- Joyce Veranda Gray grew up in the Washington DC area., attended school at the University of Maryland and served six years in the United States Air Force. Growing up, her passion was oil painting and studying the stars. She still loves the beauty of the universe and all its splendor and loves to read and travel to wondrous places.
- Prior to embracing writing, she lived in Los Angeles for a while before relocating to Atlanta and worked in the aerospace industry. Her stay in Atlanta was brief as she move on to greater things. The shooting and death of a young man by the New York City police in 2000 prompted her first novel, Final Passage. She never had a desire to write, but this was the motivator that started her career as a Science Fiction/Fantasy novelist. She didn’t see herself as a dedicated writer and didn’t think there would be another story to tell,, but not long after, her second novel Dark Karma was written and The Wishing Well followed with great success.
